PARIBARTAN
The issue of human rights has been at the forefront in Bangladesh where trafficking and violence against women poses the greatest obstacle for women’s progress and equality. The digital technology employed in this project aims to improve its dissemination quality and geographical scope through the set-up of a 24-Hour Mobile Hotlink Service that receives grievances, stress calls from victims and provides instant support such as legal advice or connecting them to different resources including law enforcement agencies, crisis centers etc. An SMS subscription service will be introduced to spread information and awareness. This can be extremely effective given that mobile use penetration is about 66% in the country. Objectives:
  • Reduction in the number of trafficking and violence cases received since base year
  • Educate/train human rights workers/defenders and victims
  • Develop gender-sensitive policies to combat trafficking and violence that are enacted and/or implemented
